Happy New Year from Lake Tahoe! We hope the seaplane community has had a wonderful 2018 and is looking forward to an even better 2019. Please continue to support and help the seaplane community grow. Flytruckeetahoe, based out of the Truckee Tahoe Airport (KTRK), in beautiful Northern California, offers commercial and private seaplane training.

Come fly and float Lake Tahoe, one of the most pristine fresh water lakes in the world. Caribbean blue water defies the imagination. Truckee Tahoe airport is at 5910 feet. Density altitude in the summer months can be well over 10,000 MSL. While the skiing in the winter is known to be world class, we can often be found flying floats every month of the year.

We are able to feature Seaplane Flight Schools & Businesses thanks to the support of our Top Sponsor

Lake Tahoe does not freeze over, which offers opportunities in even the deep winter months. High altitude training coupled with a float rating in the Tahoe Basin can lead to the family vacation of a lifetime. Lodging options include accommodations as high end as the Ritz Carlton to more budget minded choices as the Best Western Plus.

We offer a full course that includes 6 hours of training between Stampede reservoir, Boca reservoir, and of course, beautiful Lake Tahoe. Boasting crystal clear blue fresh water, Lake Tahoe is a destination for all kinds of recreation opportunities. Golf, boating, and biking are just a few of the amazing reasons why people flock to the area.

Our flying includes complex amphibious training where the lakes are as close as 8 miles in either direction. Flying floats in fresh water offers a simplicity and a clarity that makes the training a once in a lifetime experience. We also offer all ratings as well as Backcountry and off- airport education and training. Email Kevin Sloane at [email protected] for more information and visit:
