Feature: Above And Beyond Tasmania Seaplanes
Tasmania is a fairly isolated island state off of Australia’s south coast. It is known for its vast, rugged wilderness areas, largely protected within parks and reserves. Above and Beyond Seaplanes Tasmania is a fairly new seaplane endeavor which launched in the Fall of 2018 and we’re excited to feature them as another successfully launched prime example for #TheFutureOfWaterflying!
Things are ticking along for the new company and they are working with surrounding businesses within the tourism sector for guest transfers and scenic flights. Overall the company reports having had a very positive reception and great interest. Not really surprising, considering the exquisite choice of aircraft and available scenery!
The aircraft is a 1969 DHC-2 Beaver which has undergone a complete rebuild by Kenmore, during which it was also equipped with a Baron STOL kit, the 5,600 lb. GW increase kit as well as Amphibious Wipline 6100A Floats. As the only seaplane operator in Tasmania, the team is certainly on its way to providing an unparalleled Tasmanian experience to tourists and locals alike.
