First European Seaplane Congress Planned

With lawmakers and regulators basking in the sunshine of raw power, arbitrary and capricious decisions in all aspects of general and business aviation regulation of Europe are the sad norm. While hindering the positive development of the aviation industry for decades to come appears to be a declared goal of politicians, the smallest fractions of our industry suffer the most. Seaplanes are all but history in many parts of Europe.

The first European Seaplane Congress meeting seeks to establish a European Hydraviation Federation and will take place from Friday, March 20 – Sunday March 22, 2020 in Pollensa, Mallorca. Organizers are hoping for solid participation in the effort to combine knowledge and expertise across European nations in finding more common sense solutions to European bureaucracy. Seaplanemagazine.com supports and takes part in this endeavor.

With no helpful or remotely meaningful advocacy organization available beyond country borders and tiny groups desperately fighting for seaplane pilots rights and privileges, it was a matter of time until someone with an interest in the continued existence of flying seaplanes would attempt to organize a challenge of common status quo. If you are interested in taking part in this meeting, please reach out to Andrea Pollard via Email: [email protected]

The event is organized and supervised by the Mallorcan Aeronautical Foundation in collaboration with various partner organizations. Seaplanemagazine.com is seeking sponsors to attend the event. If you can help, get in touch today!
