Fishing By Seaplane – Cobham River Lodge – A special tip among seaplane pilots flying in Manitoba, Canada

Want to reel in a huge fish in a remote location of Manitoba, but still be home to make it to the office in time the next day? You can! Fishing By Seaplane – The Cobham River Lodge will be at the end of the magenta line after punching 52° 51’08” N 95° 15’57” W  into your GPS, just about 110 NM North of Bisset Seaplane Base.

Together with Hidden Lake Outpost, the Hebel’s run this outfit from May to August. And there’s a special deal in store for members of Seaplane Pilots Association and AOPA. Members of each group enjoy up to 50% off regular self fly-in pricing and will be treated like family. Wheeled pilots aren’t left out either, the lodge has partnered with charter outfits picking non web-footed family members up in Silver Falls (CKB8), Selkirk (CKL2) or Lac du Bonnet (CYAX) or even Winnipeg (CYWG). All it takes is a call to discuss your options.

The main lodge is equipped with free high speed internet, allowing proper preparation and flight planning and the 48 foot dock and other tie down options allow for wind protected storage of your bird during your stay. Renovations in 2012 allow guests to have all the amenities you would expect from a lodge. Definitely a place to add to your destination list for 2016.  Check them out on Facebook or visit Cobham River Lodge online.
